Iran, Brazil to Release Joint Stamp Issue

NEW YORK -- Iran and Brazil will soon release a joint stamp issue to mark the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries, reported IRNA.

The Iranian Embassy in Brazil announced Friday that a visiting delegation from Iran's postal administration had signed an agreement with their Brazilian counterpart to print the stamp in over three million copies on December 5.

The stamp features earthenware pots indigenous to both countries.

Iran's joint stamp issue with Brazil is the second such attempt that the Islamic Republic has organized after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Iran and China last year signed an agreement to print a joint issue stamp in 2003 to be a token of historical and cultural affinities between the two nations.

The stamp will feature the historical monuments of both countries on the way of the Silk Road which connected ancient Iran and China.
